SETCO Automotive Ltd., India’s largest manufacturer of Premium Quality Lipe clutches for heavy and medium commercial vehicles celebrated environment day with one person from each of their department planting a tree. This activity was initiated with an objective of creating awareness about the importance of nature and a pollution free environment amongst the employees.

Speaking on the occasion Harish Sheth, CMD, SETCO Automotive Ltd. said, “Our commitment towards environmental sustainability begins at home as we make an effort to reduce the impact of our industrial and business activities through various initiatives. Each of these trees planted by our employees bears a special significance in helping to create awareness amongst our own people about the importance of nature.”

Setco Automotive Ltd is committed to the environment and to the society at large. 5 % of Setco Automotive Ltd’s Net Profit is dedicated to its CSR activities. These CSR activities focused in under developed areas are related to environment awareness, health and education. Some of the identified activities for environment awareness are: Purified drinking water for neighboring schools in Kalol, plantation of trees in the surrounding premises, and other environmental awareness creation activities.

“This environment day, we at SETCO decided to target a small group of people who are likely to have a large impact on the rest of the society. The Nandghar (Anganwadis) set up by our Setco Foundation has over 200 children from the KalolTaluka attending, from the ages 3 to 6. These children hail from different backgrounds but they all merge together here in our Nandghar. We believe that by creating an awareness and understanding amongst this group, we will be able to positively influence not just them but their families, neighbors and so on so forth thus bringing about a greater understanding of the environment and the need to preserve it.” added Mr.Sheth.

From reducing the usage of paper within the organisation to appropriate ecologically friendly waste disposal methods, Setco continues to maintain an environmentally friendly strategy on a regular basis. The Setco Environment Management System (SEMS), which is a system for comprehensive management of the environment, occupies a priority spot for us as we strive to continuously improve our quality, environment and safety standards.
